FARRAKHAN, Louis Sr.
Web Links Louis Farrakhan, born Louis Eugene Walcott on May 11, 1933, is a leader of the Nation of Islam, a religious group thatis more popularly known as the Black Muslims. Beginning in the 1970s he emerged as a spokesman for Black Nationalism, arguing that African Americans should work to improve themselves rather than expect whites to help them.
