Educating Our Children
While the government and the Church should play an important role in education, that role is subordinate to the wishes of parents. The education of our children must primarily be the responsibility of parents.

Therefore, it is appropriate to use government or private schools and the Church to supplement and assist in education. However, those of us who are Christian parents have a Biblical responsibility to train our children in spiritual matters based on Biblical truths and to ensure that our children are not being taught error from any source.

Community Excel's advocates for biblical citizenship will seek to provide pertinent information that will assist parents with both the “direct supervision” over their child’s education and the indirect supervision via laws created by our public policy makers.

Words from U.S. History….
In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed.
–Noah Webster, in the preface to the first English dictionary he completed in 1828

Cursed be all that learning that is contrary to the cross of Christ.
–Rev. Jonathon Dickinson, former President of Princeton

Every student shall consider the main end of his study to wit to know God in Jesus Christ and answerably to lead a Godly, sober life.
–Excerpt from the rules outlined by the founders of Yale College

Words from the Bible….
Deuteronomy 6:6-9: These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on you children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Proverbs 2:1-11 My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you.

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
