At-Risk Youth Advocate

Community Excel prides itself in having a positive effect on youth by starting with the framework of the individual. Through our diverse programs we are able to effectuate change through services that create a foundation for values, ethics, goals and positive reinforcement.

Revitalizing and impacting the fabric of  communities is our number one priority. Not only do we continue to build strong relationships between youth and families, but we also create relationships and alliances with other social service organizations and law enforcement agencies to foster a cohesive effort to accomplish a common goal. Our youthdevelopment programs aid the community in decreasing the number of juvenile curfew and youth violations along with promoting education within school system to build a stronger desire to learn.

Community Excel  takes responsibility for helping transform the future of our communities. Our youth  programs provide building blocks for higher education. We prepare our youth participants how to properly communicate both orally and in writing, while providing tutoring and mentoring services to increase their scholastic aptitude. As part of our desire to train and be an advocate of higher education we have programs that offer basic computer training and life skills that allow our youth to be a productive member of their communities.

Community Excel is an advocate of reducing the crime rate  by focusing on our youth. We recognize that the youth is our future and a positive effect on them will result in renewed communities. We also recognize what motivates and drives our youth to make poor decisions. Boredom along with the desire to be accepted and identifying with somebody is the leading cause of at-risk involvement. Our youth programs do an excellent job in curbing such desires through healthy competitive team building workshops.

Mentoring youth on their personal development plans is one of our top objectives. We have various youth development plans that outline youth development with small achievable benchmarks to help youth participants reach their desired goals. Our youth development programs are monitored by our skilled and experience youth service directors who provide mentoring to establish accountability and encouragement.

Our youth outreach programs and services continue to provide sound youth mentoring on priority health risk behaviors that contribute to morbidity and mortality among  youth and adults. Outreach development programs directly address health issues regarding:

Tabacco Use
Alcohol and Drug Use
Unintended Pregnancies
STDs
HIV
Obesity
Use of Weapons Such as Firearms
Physical Violence

Peer mentoring and peer association groups encourage youth participants to stay involved. Young people are often receptive to information from their peers. We allow youth participants within our agency to be an ambassador of their constructive youth development experience, thus asserting positive peer pressure on their peers and mentoring them in the areas in which they have grown. This has been a successful from of youth outreach within our  communities. Our youth volunteer programs encourage youth members to give back to their community. We also encourage outside youths to volunteer and get involved in the mentoring process within the organization to facilitated organic change within Youth Services.

The mentoring outreach programs we offer encompass solid principles that will allow to raise-up a generation focused on developing themselves through effective mentoring. Our programs are enriched with youth development that builds up the individual from the inside out.

Troubled Youth Programs
Youth Services defines a troubled youth as an adolescent or teen experiencing emotional or behavioral problems that impedes their ability to learn and be productive in a classroom and other social settings. As the leading youth service organization in  we are focused on continuing to pave the way for troubled youths within our community.

One-on-One School Intervention Program for Troubled Youths
Our troubled youth program prides itself on creating relationships with Virginia’s educational community such as faculty and staff members in school system. Our Youth Intervention Program includes youth supervision and surveillance both inside and outside the classroom. The program will help prevent students under supervision from skipping classes, thereby improving their attendance. Our Youth Intervention Program also allows  youth directors to create and build relationships with supervised participants.

The goal of our Troubled Youth Program is not only to improve the classroom performance of the student under supervision, but also to mentor and build a rapport in the process. Our youth organization establishes trust between the director and the youth participant, rather than being an authoritative figure that troubled kids are use to rebelling against.

Monitoring the youth’s progress is extremely important for the all parties involved including parents, youth agencies requesting our services and our Troubled Youth Program directors. Daily progress reports along with a weekly evaluation reports will be performed for each youth participant. Our School Intervention Youth Program allows our directors to reach other troubled  kids, such as acquaintances of the youth participating in the evaluation program. Once our directors get involved and are able to obtain access to the social settings within the  school systems they will be better able to identify various patterns of behavior and critique their intervention process as needed.

At-Risk Youth Advocate Services
Youth Services offers programs that specialize in the development of at-risk youths in, while transforming their lives through persistent and compassionate mentoring. Our youth development services define at-risk youths as adolescents or teens experiencing acute behavioral problems, causing them to be a safety liability to both themselves and others. At-risk youths often have been incarcerated in a juvenile facility and are often labeled as a menace to our society.

Youth Advocate Program directors believe that there is hope for the young generation of America. Our at-risk youth services focuses primarily on using teen incarceration prevention skills and suicide prevention skills to educate at-risk youths in overcoming the barriers within their communities and families.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death between the ages of 15-24 and six leading cause of death between the ages of 5-15

Juveniles are involved as victims or offenders in 38% of all violent crimes in which the victim could estimate the age of the offender(s)

Our Youth Advocate Services promote self worth by assessing the desires and the gifts of at-risk youths, while properly matching those attributes to real life vocational skills. We're an advocate of teaching job readiness skills and demonstrating to our youth participants how to live an effective and gratifying life.

Our youth development result in restoring families and communities by working from the inside-out. We have a blue-print process that builds-up our young generation from the core. Youths participating in our At-Risk Youth Advocate program leave with a rejuvenated spirit about them, ready to give back to their community what was given to them: hope and the desire to be the best despite the odds set against them. Youth Services are always looking for opportunities in youth development within the communities.
